Wolfgang Sirch Designer & owner Sirch Christoph Bitzer Designer Sirch

The crafts of traditional coachbuilding in southern Bavaria in Germany are the origins of the company Sirch.

The product line for children “Sibis” that originated in the year 2000 distinguishes itself through a high degree of commitment to craftsmanship. The design ethos for their wooden children’s furniture and toys stems from a strong empathy with the elemental, with simplicity and with the archaic.

In an attempt to respond to the mostly static and exaggerated constructions of most wooden toys available at the time, they designed the children’s ride-on vehicles “Max” and “Flix” as one of the first examples of a design concept that emphasized delicacy and an expressive aesthetic. Further models followed in in a classic collection for children, including rocking horses, a doll’s pushchair, and a wheelbarrow. The miniature house ‘Villa Sibis’ was the foundation for the major subject of architectural models for play.

All wooden toys and play furniture are tested for children’s use by the German technical safety authority TÜV and the well-respected consumer association ‘Spiel-gut’.
