What was your inspiration for your playful children’s furniture KokoLoko?

KokoLoko is a furniture collection designed for kids and the Loko ones. Each piece presents a different combination of same eight elements. Changing their combination gives you variations in functionality and its sculptural appearance, creating variety of characters, depending on the eye of the children. KokoLoko is a bench, stool or a shelf, but at the same time a car polygon or a doll house, design that gives your child (or child in you) a possibility to create a character in a functional piece of furniture. The Kolokolo childrens furniture collection is designed to be assembled and disassembled, easy to transport and to store.

How children respond to KokoLoko?

To most of them, their first contact with KokoLoko provokes touching and disassembling and then assembling in a different way, while others, coming already with a different toy, perceive it usually as an home object for that other toy, like a garage for cars or house for little character toys. But in the end they all use it differently.

Are there other products that you produce specifically for children?

This is already my third project designed for kids. The first one was a babygym that can easily be transformed into table. I wanted to buy my godson a babygym and then lack of good products on the market made me occupied over design for kids. In the meantime I became a parent myself so now I’m designing it for us also. We are constantly living in small spaces so I always think how to design something that can be used by all the household, not only by kids.
