KILE – playful furniture by Taran Johanne Neckelmann

KILE is a playful furniture that has at least 4 set furniture functions, which means that they can be a part of the furnishing solution in the children’s bedroom. But it can also be turned into whatever the children think of through play.

Cadence – modern school & classroom furniture by students of the École Bleue in Paris

To answer the question about mobility and well-being, we designed a range of moving furniture, which adapts to the students and teachers, throughout the day. To do this, we designed the Cadence range around two constructive systems, the screw, and the compass.

The idea behind this kid’s play table was to create a fun playful mobile table that it is both functional and playful. A child can play with it, draw and use its storage for toys

YaWood – rocking horse & play furniture by Argo4 Studio

The goal was to create an object that could be used individually, but that would be more funny when shared. It is made by a curved wood profile that follows the lines of the body. The design concept is inspired by the mother’s hand as a symbol of protection and kindness.

Bench Gang – play furniture by Christian Cowper

Accepting that just as much thought should go into designing for a child as for an adult is important. Nobody is second to anyone else, so everybody should have access to meaningful and well-considered design.

Respectful & sustainable design for kids presents the exhibition play it green! on September 20 – 21 2018 at Design Post Cologne. Play it green! – initiated by afilii – platform for design & architecture for kids – introduces 28 international exhibitors from 8 countries with eco friendly toys, accessories, modern kids furniture and selected prototypes by students & young designers. The extensive framework program will inspire and create awareness for changes of perspective.
